Italy, 26th Jan 2023 – Have you ever wondered what is hidden behind the curtains of the glittering world of the “fashion circus”? Fashion Vibes tells us all about it in its next event.
The ephemeral spectacle of a fashion show has a timespan of only fifteen minutes or so. However, the fleeting moment of magic that takes place on the catwalk is the product of an incredible work that requires months of preparation: starting from the effort put in the making of these beautiful hand-made collections by those who actually put the pieces together with attention to the smallest details, up to the last hours of work in which the teams of stylists, hairdressers, and make-up artists give shape to the entire look that the audience will see on the catwalk.
The artistic project Fashion Vibes will present during Milan Fashion Week 2023 is not just a simple fashion show because, for the first time, the audience will have the opportunity to take a close look at the fantastic and secret world in which a fashion show is made: the backstage. The striking and totally innovative element of Inside Show Backstage – which will be held on the 23rd of February a few steps away from the Teatro La Scala, in the splendid Circolo Filologico Milanese – is offered by the 2-stages performance.
From 5pm the ART ROOM will be open to the audience: a showcase space where guests, buyers, media representatives, and influencers will be able to take a look at some pieces of the new collections from a short distance, admiring the designers’ work up close and sipping a glass of Italian sparkling wine. At 6pm, the FASHION SHOW will begin a dynamic exhibition, a celebration of the effort of those who work behind the scenes, and the most important moment of the evening.
What is going to take the Fashion Vibes stage is the most innovative form of handmade craftsmanship, the craftcore, a whole movement that combines nostalgia for the past with a trend towards a future that will be free from fast fashion. Fashion Vibes offers a world tour to discover the work of seven designers whose production perfectly reflects the new obsession for the handmade that pervades social media: ideas, shapes and colors are translated into fabulous yet very different collections, presented in a single show that will serve as a stage for the rebirth of handcrafting.
From 6pm, the seven brands will take the catwalk with their whole variety of collections. SAVALME, the brand founded by Albina Sallum, after the success at the Dubai Fashion Week arrives in Milan with its swimsuits made with the most modern technologies in high-quality Korean supplex and decorated with entirely handmade details. NAZ MAER, also after Dubai, brings along the whole sparkling and luxurious universe of unique and unrepeatable red-carpet dresses. From Mexico to the Italian capital of fashion, INDIRA&ISIDRO will put on display a whole collection of jewels crafted from precious stones that evokes the richness of the ancient civilizations of Central America and bags made of exotic leather. Usman Habibu, from Ghana, with his brand GARY PIE and his haute couture for men and women, will present his creations as a symbol of luxury made in Africa. SPARKLE by KAREN CHAN, directly from Hong Kong, brings traditional Chinese garments to Italy, reinterpreting cheongsam and tangzhuang in a street fashion and innovation perspective, using a bright, vivid palette. Speaking of colors, the very young artists and designers of the Thai brand KEZIAH, Winny, and Hero Chumpuang, will bring the joy of their paintings to the catwalk with a lively collection.
Finally, an example of elegance will be offered by the classic and minimal fashion of the DIANA KLISARIS models from Australia, representative of a refined style made for and by a powerful and emancipated woman. Reach out via Instagram @_fashionvibesmilano
